Banteay Meanchey authorities say no new incidents have occurred in Prey Chan and Chouk Chey villages. Old photographs and videos showing barbed wire being installed in those villages, in Ou Beichoan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, and in other places are being recirculated on social media, causing public confusion. In a statement issued on November 21, the provincial administration reiterated that nothing new had occurred in the two villages.
Joint Cambodian and Thai teams are using drones to take aerial images before installing temporary markers in the area of boundary pillars 42–47, covering Ou Beichoan commune in Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, and Thailand's Sa Kaeo province, in accordance with the agreed Technical Instruction. This work follows the agreement reached at the Cambodia–Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) meeting of October 21–22, 2025. Both sides should avoid provocative actions affecting the JBC's work and mandate, particularly actions that increase tensions or violate Article 5 of the 2000 memorandum of understanding.
