At a ceremony closing one bodyguard training course and opening another in Cambodia's Kandal province, National Police Commissioner General Sar Thet reaffirmed that the National Police and the Royal Bodyguard Command had long maintained close, solid and inseparable cooperation. They would continue strengthening coordination now and in the future to ensure national security and the successful protection of the leadership.
Sar Thet said the two forces had worked closely and effectively to maintain national stability, protect the royal family and senior leaders, respond to emergencies and uphold public order. He said the attendance of senior leaders symbolised deeper 'unity, friendship and mutual trust' between the institutions. The National Police and the Bodyguard Command supported each other in domestic security, major ceremonies, international conferences and disaster relief, and jointly shouldered responsibilities for sovereignty and territorial integrity during border tensions.
He thanked the military, senior commanders and local authorities for their longstanding support for the National Police, and urged the new bodyguard trainees to follow discipline strictly and apply their professional skills to practical duties, protecting national leaders, security institutions and the public. He stressed that all personnel must uphold professional ethics, respect the law, protect state secrets and fulfil their responsibilities conscientiously in the national and public interest.
