Cambodia's ABA Bank recently issued a notice reminding customers to comply with national financial regulations and not to conduct transactions in cryptocurrencies or related digital assets without permission from the National Bank of Cambodia. The bank stressed that all such activities must be handled through officially authorised banks or financial institutions.
In the notice, ABA Bank advised customers not to use their accounts to buy or sell cryptocurrencies or conduct similar digital-asset transactions, including peer-to-peer (P2P) trading. The bank said the measure was intended to safeguard customers' funds and comply with national financial regulatory requirements.
ABA Bank also warned that it could impose restrictions on accounts used in breach of the rules for cryptocurrency transactions, in order to prevent risks and losses. The bank reiterated that it would continue cooperating with the national financial authorities to ensure compliant and secure transactions.
