King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia issued a royal decree on November 27, 2025, appointing Mao Thonin, who holds the senior official rank, class 1 (highest grade), to a second term as governor of Kampot province in the same jurisdiction.
A provincial governor may administer a province for four years per term and may serve a maximum of two terms in the same jurisdiction. Before taking office for his first term as governor of Kampot in 2021, Mao Thonin had served as governor of Pursat province.
