On the morning of December 14, Thai forces conducted military operations along the Cambodia–Thailand border, with air strikes and shelling at several locations in Banteay Meanchey and Oddar Meanchey provinces, according to Cambodia’s Defence Ministry. Its report said Thai forces used F-16 fighters, drones and heavy artillery in coordinated attacks on border areas at around 11 a.m.
The ministry also said Thai forces dropped one bomb in Thma Da commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province, at 8:15 a.m. that morning, causing panic among residents and increasing threats to their safety.
Cambodia said it was closely monitoring the situation and strengthening border defences with the aim of protecting civilians and national sovereignty. Local residents were advised to take care and avoid areas where conflict might occur.
