Recently, about 500 Cambodians held a rally and demonstration in Japan, publicly voicing dissatisfaction with and protesting what they described as Thai violations of Cambodian territory, while calling for international attention to the Cambodia–Thailand border situation.
Participants reportedly used a peaceful gathering to express their commitment to national sovereignty and territorial integrity and demanded that the relevant parties take measures to stop aggression and safeguard regional peace and stability.
Organisers said that after the rally they would submit petitions to Japan’s government, the US embassy in Japan, the Swedish embassy in Japan and the European Union’s representation in Japan. They called on the relevant countries and international organisations to take Cambodia’s concerns seriously and promote a fair international resolution of the dispute.
