Cambodian law-enforcement authorities said an operation on the morning of December 15 in the area between Siem Reap and Oddar Meanchey provinces had led to the arrest of a Cambodian citizen suspected of supplying intelligence to the Thai side.
The statement alleged that the suspect had provided precise locations of bridges and other important infrastructure, potentially assisting damage to key public facilities and posing a serious threat to national security.
The case was under further investigation. Police said they would establish the facts fully before pursuing the appropriate legal responsibility of those involved and would continue strengthening security precautions around important areas and critical facilities.
