“Anyone who destroys heritage regarded as the work of the gods will descend through 32 levels of hell until the moon and sun are gone. We hope those curses will fall on whoever fired on and destroyed the temples that are our national heritage. This is a historical lesson we shall pass down through the generations,” Culture and Fine Arts Minister Phoeurng Sackona said on December 15, 2025.
The minister added that, in the face of the difficult situation, every Cambodian should unite as one and continue to support and trust the country’s top leadership.
