On the afternoon of December 22, Cambodian People’s Party President and Senate President Samdech Hun Sen met a visiting delegation led by Xie Chuntao, head of the Communist Party of China Central Committee delegation and vice president of the Central Party School, at CPP headquarters in Phnom Penh. Hun Sen reaffirmed that Cambodia and China are “ironclad friends” and have built an all-weather community with a shared future in the new era, with solid foundations and broad prospects for bilateral relations.
Hun Sen said Cambodia–China relations were maintaining positive momentum, with practical cooperation in politics, economics and people-to-people exchanges. He hoped the two sides would build on existing foundations to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the CPP and the CPC, deepen reciprocal visits by officials and exchanges of experience, and expand human resource training cooperation.
Xie Chuntao thanked Hun Sen for the meeting and praised the achievements in Cambodia–China relations. He said China attached great importance to exchanges between the two parties and was willing to use the visit to make those exchanges deeper and more substantive, contributing to friendly cooperation between the countries. At the close of the meeting, Hun Sen wished the delegation a successful visit to Cambodia.
