The Ministry of National Defence reported on the Cambodia–Thailand border situation on December 25, 2025, saying Thai forces continued firing on Cambodian civilian locations in Ta Lei village, Kouk Romiet commune, Thma Puok district, Banteay Meanchey province, within Military Region 5.
According to the notice, at 8:41 a.m. Thai forces fired 155 mm heavy artillery shells into Ta Lei village, Kouk Romiet commune, Thma Puok district, killing one innocent Cambodian civilian.
The notice characterised the shelling as a ferocious, cruel and indiscriminate attack by Thai forces and a serious violation of international humanitarian law and civilians’ rights.
In this situation, Cambodian armed forces have fought tenaciously against the acts of aggression and continue monitoring developments with constant high vigilance to fulfil their duty to defend territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
