Summary

Wang Wenbin outlined China’s ceasefire support and 20 million yuan in emergency aid. Initial supplies reached Cambodia as diplomatic and military representatives met in Yunnan.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin said on his official social media on the afternoon of December 28, 2025 that peace was the shared aspiration of the Cambodian and Thai peoples and a consistent objective of the People’s Republic of China.

Meanwhile, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and China’s foreign minister, was leading trilateral talks with the Cambodian and Thai foreign ministers in Yunnan, China, with military representatives from all three countries participating.

China welcomed the announced Cambodia–Thailand ceasefire as an important step towards easing tensions and creating favourable conditions for peace and stability along the border. It would continue playing a positive, constructive role in supporting the ceasefire, rebuilding trust and advancing lasting peace.

Wang Wenbin also said China was the first country to provide assistance to Cambodia after the border conflict began and had provided the most aid, reflecting the two countries’ deep and enduring friendship.

To help displaced people and others affected by the conflict, China decided to provide the Cambodian government with emergency humanitarian assistance worth 20 million yuan. Initial aid supplies had arrived in Cambodia, including tents, blankets and essential food, to meet urgent needs in a timely manner.

China reaffirmed its commitment to peace, peaceful dialogue and regional stability, as well as continued close cooperation with Cambodia and Thailand.
