Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence responded on December 29 by denying Thailand’s claim that more than 250 drones had flown from Cambodia into Thailand, calling the allegations untrue and inaccurate. Defence Ministry spokeswoman Lieutenant General Maly Socheata said the Cambodian government and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces categorically rejected them.
She also emphasised that Cambodia would continue strictly implementing the ceasefire and peace agreements signed by the two sides and working for peace and stability along the border. The ministry said it had issued clear instructions in border areas prohibiting the launch of all types of drones, and confirmed that no launches of the kind alleged by Thailand had occurred. It called on others to base their views on facts and avoid misjudging the situation.
