On the morning of December 31, 18 Cambodian soldiers safely returned to Cambodia. The Cambodian and Thai sides completed their handover at the Pailin border checkpoint.
The 18 Cambodian servicemen had been detained by the Thai military shortly after the July 29, 2025 ceasefire. By their release on December 31, they had spent 155 days in custody.
