During the holiday marking the transition from 2025 to 2026, Siem Reap province’s tourism market warmed noticeably and experienced another peak in visitor arrivals. Total visits approached 300,000, indicating a continued recovery and accelerating revival of local tourism and laying a positive foundation for the 2026 tourism market.
Figures released by Siem Reap’s tourism department on January 1 showed that the province received approximately 286,751 visits over December 30–31, 2025. Domestic visitors accounted for the largest share, with 279,210 visits, while international visitors made 7,541 visits. The report described international numbers as growing steadily, reflecting the gradual recovery of Siem Reap’s appeal to overseas visitors.
The local government said the New Year celebrations had boosted the city’s vibrancy and holiday spending and enhanced Siem Reap’s overall image as an international tourism destination. By showcasing Cambodia’s rich history, culture and artistic appeal, Siem Reap continued to project a positive message of safety, order and visitor friendliness, it said.
