After receiving a message from residents asking the authorities to inspect illegal online gambling in Kampong Samnanh commune, Colonel Yi Vannada, Takhmao municipal police chief, ordered the head of Kampong Samnanh administrative police post to intervene immediately on January 9, 2026.
Kampong Samnanh police post officers subsequently raided the illegal online cockfighting site and seized evidence including two large tables, one small table, one computer and six plastic chairs. All the gamblers and the premises’ owner had fled.
The municipal police chief said city police would continue cracking down on all forms of gambling offences persistently, like steady drizzle.
