On January 11, 2026, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce handed charitable donations from its foundation, including food and various household supplies, to the Khmer Artists Association for direct distribution to a combined 2,000 displaced and soldiers’ families in Siem Reap province.
The donation handover took place at the Khmer Artists Association, with Cambodia Chamber of Commerce Vice-President Lao Kang representing chamber President Kith Meng, alongside Khmer Artists Association President Mao Chamnan Kith Meng. Chamber leaders, male and female members and numerous Cambodian artists also attended.
Speaking on behalf of chamber President Kith Meng, Lao Kang expressed deep thanks to all benefactors who had donated money and necessary supplies through the chamber’s foundation. He also thanked the chamber’s male and female members, Cambodian artists and members of the public who had devoted their physical effort and goodwill to actively packing and loading food and other supplies for distribution to displaced people and soldiers’ families.
He said this noble gesture demonstrated humanitarian generosity with a patriotic spirit, as well as the solidarity of the wider Cambodian family in supporting and encouraging Cambodian soldiers who were bravely defending territorial integrity. It also helped ease the difficulties of some displaced people who remained unable to return to their homes, despite the current calm under the ceasefire along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
Nuon Pech Sophal, senior deputy director-general and personal assistant to chamber President Kith Meng, said the chamber foundation’s working team had come to help the Khmer Artists Association organise and load food and other necessities donated to the foundation by the wider chamber community and benefactors, in preparation for distribution to displaced people in Siem Reap.
Chamber President Kith Meng had decided to establish the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce Foundation to receive essential donations from benefactors, uniting Cambodian efforts to assist Cambodian soldiers and displaced people who had been evacuated to safety centres.
