Joint Cambodian–South Korean law-enforcement personnel recently raided a building in Sihanoukville, detaining 50 people suspected of involvement in online scams at the scene.
During the operation, officers also rescued two South Korean victims and seized a substantial amount of evidence, including 63 all-in-one computers, 60 mobile phones and 60 iPads. Police said the operation was conducted in accordance with the law after they obtained leads and confirmed that online scam activities were taking place at the location.
The relevant authorities are continuing an in-depth investigation to trace those directing the operation behind the scenes. They have transferred the suspects and evidence to the National Police headquarters and the joint Cambodian–South Korean working group for further handling in accordance with the law.
