The Education Ministry’s Department of Digital Transformation, working with partners, has installed and supplied digital equipment at some schools in border areas to support teaching and learning in temporary schooling at Kandaol Primary School, Thma Puok district, Banteay Meanchey province.
The emergency technology solutions put into use include an offline digital library, comprising an Offline Content Server and a Local Wi-Fi Hotspot. The equipment stores two terabytes of educational content, enabling teachers and students to access and download more than 3,000 books and thousands of instructional videos without an internet connection. One laptop has been provided for teachers and 10 KOOMPI computers for students to practise digital skills. A green-energy solar power system has also been installed, with energy storage of 15 kilowatt-hours, to ensure regular use of the supplied computers and electronic devices even in the remote location.
The technical team also organised a short training course for 20 teachers, who will teach 757 students, as well as parents and people living near the school, how to use the equipment and download lessons through the Local Wi-Fi Hotspot on the school grounds.
