In an announcement on January 15, the Ministry of Tourism said that, following Prime Minister Hun Manet’s instructions, Cambodia’s government had decided to introduce a four-month visa-free entry pilot for Chinese nationals holding passports of the People’s Republic of China from June 15 to October 15, 2026, to further facilitate Chinese tourists’ travel to Cambodia.
The announcement said the policy applies to passport holders from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, but not Taiwan. Eligible Chinese citizens may enter Cambodia directly with valid passports during the pilot, without applying for a visa in advance or paying any visa fee. They need only complete the electronic arrival card as required for the entry formalities.
Under the announced arrangements, the maximum stay for a single visa-free entry is 14 days. The measure covers visitors flying directly from China as well as Chinese tourists connecting through third countries or regions. The ministry said the pilot aims to promote people-to-people exchanges between Cambodia and China, support the tourism sector’s continuing recovery, and encourage related investment and cooperation. It also called on tourism associations, travel agencies and media organisations to strengthen publicity so businesses and travellers fully understand and smoothly benefit from the visa exemption.
