Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training spokesman Sun Mesa said recently that, as of December 2025, the number of enterprises and factories of all types in Cambodia had risen to about 46,000, employing more than 2.14 million people in total. He described the overall employment situation as stable and continuing to improve.
He said enterprises and factories were mainly concentrated in key sectors including agriculture, industry, manufacturing and garments. These included 386 agricultural enterprises, 7,565 industrial enterprises, 4,964 manufacturing enterprises and 1,867 garment enterprises. These sectors form the main pillars supporting the current employment market.
Sun Mesa said the continued increase in enterprise numbers and employment reflected investors’ growing confidence in the government’s economic policies and system for developing skilled workers, as well as steady improvements in Cambodia’s overall investment environment and ability to absorb workers. More than 80,000 jobs were still open across various industries and occupations. He urged jobseekers, particularly returning workers, to take these opportunities and contact the ministry’s hotline 1297 for information.
