Cambodia and Canada achieved bilateral trade of more than US$1 billion in 2025, an increase of about 15% from 2024. Trade between the two countries has risen steadily over the past five years.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth met Canadian Ambassador to Cambodia Christian DesRoches for a working discussion at the ministry on January 15.
Aun Pornmoniroth said bilateral trade had grown steadily over the past five years and exceeded US$1 billion in 2025, up about 15% compared with 2024.
Trade statistics recorded by Cambodia’s General Department of Customs and Excise under the Ministry of Economy and Finance showed total trade with Canada of US$1.334 billion in 2025. Cambodian exports to Canada were US$1.271 billion, up 14.6%, while imports from Canada were US$63 million, up 3.1% compared with 2024.

From 1992 to 2024, Canada provided Cambodia with approximately US$207 million in grant assistance, focusing on education, health, agriculture, energy, food security, action against landmines and unexploded ordnance, governance and gender equality.
Cambodia and Canada will examine the possibility of agreements on the reciprocal promotion and protection of investment and the avoidance of double taxation, among other arrangements.
