Summary

Daguang Food Group outlined plans for a livestock and food-processing base as part of its 2026–2030 international strategy; Governor Mang Sineth welcomed the proposal and offered necessary provincial support.

Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth recently met a delegation from the Chinese agribusiness Daguang Food Group Co., Ltd. The group said it planned to invest in a large livestock-farming and food-processing industrial base in the province, making Cambodia, particularly Preah Sihanouk, a priority investment area in its international development strategy for 2026–2030.

Group chairman Zhang Shengxun said its operations covered five provinces in China and included pig farming, feed production and meat processing. He said the project would focus on introducing high-quality pigs, poultry and egg products to meet Cambodian market demand. Zhang said Preah Sihanouk’s favourable climate and logistical advantages provided a sound foundation for large-scale modern agricultural production meeting environmental standards.

Mang Sineth welcomed the investment intention and said Preah Sihanouk was accelerating its transformation into a model multipurpose special economic zone, with four strategic functional areas planned: an industrial and logistics zone, an integrated urban centre, an ecotourism zone and an agriculture and fisheries zone. He highlighted its integrated land, sea and air transport advantages, saying Sihanoukville Autonomous Port handled about 70 percent of national cargo throughput. The port and airport were being upgraded, while expressways, national roads and railways continued to improve, providing strong support for investment. The governor said the provincial administration would provide the necessary support to help the project develop efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
