Acting on orders from Cambodia’s government, the Svay Rieng Provincial Administrative Unified Command will take measures against technology-related fraud, or online scams, without exception until such activities are completely eliminated within the province.
To that end, the provincial unified command requested sincere cooperation from casino, guesthouse and hotel owners and owners of other collective-accommodation premises, asking them to follow these instructions:
1. Publicise information about action against online-scam groups widely throughout Svay Rieng and cooperate in promptly reporting information about the above suspected cases to provincial, city and district administrative unified commands.
2. Do not accept foreign nationals without clear documentation for accommodation, or groups suspected of involvement in online scams who have fled from other areas or nearby buildings.
3. Immediately stop renting accommodation in any form to individuals or groups identified as persons of interest connected to online-scam groups.
4. In cases of concealment, false information or lies shielding the above online-scam groups, the provincial administration will take legal measures without exception against owners of premises who violate the instructions.
5. Citizens and territorial authorities at every level must cooperate in providing information about such cases, joining provincial, city and district authorities in making action against online-scam groups highly effective.
Upon receiving the notice, all premises owners and relevant parties are asked to cooperate in action against online-scam groups to achieve good results and demonstrate a high sense of responsibility. By: Pai Sokhim.
