On January 26, Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration met a delegation from China’s Ministry of Public Security to discuss and consult on faster travel-document processing for Chinese irregular residents suspected of involvement in telecom and online scam cases, and on advancing their return procedures.
Against the backdrop of cross-border scams, the two sides focused on streamlining document review, identity checks and enforcement coordination to shorten identification and return times and improve case handling. Both said they would strengthen law-enforcement and immigration cooperation, deepen information sharing and coordinated mechanisms, advance returns lawfully and orderly, and continue improving joint capacity against cross-border telecom and online scams.
