The heads of government of Cambodia and Vietnam praised relations at all levels and cooperation in socioeconomic development. They reaffirmed the principle of good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term stability, and promoted the goal of US$20 billion in bilateral trade.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held their talks in Phnom Penh on February 6.
They discussed stronger cooperation in politics and diplomacy, trade and investment, defence and security, energy, education and training, tourism, culture, and transport infrastructure. This included connecting the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway with the Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai Expressway.
They reaffirmed the future US$20 billion trade target and called for border provinces to cooperate against cross-border crime, human trafficking and technology-based scams, building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
