Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resolving the border dispute peacefully and on the basis of international law. He said only this approach could ensure lasting effectiveness. Results might be slow and difficult, but everyone must face the problem together and find a lasting solution so it does not recur, ensuring peace in the future.
He said areas that had developed after the civil war of the 1980s and 1990s had unfortunately become battlefields again within a short time. He hoped fighting would end and the areas would again become vibrant places for people’s development. The government would work through legal and technical means to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity, he stressed, asking people for trust and understanding because progress could sometimes be slower than they expected.
He made the remarks on the morning of Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at a gathering with grade-A graduates of the upper-secondary examinations and the level-3 technical and vocational certificate examinations.
