Phnom Penh: A free heart-surgery programme at the National Pediatric Hospital is strengthening hope for children with heart disease. On the morning of February 12, 2026, Dr Pech Chanmony Hun Manet inspected the progress of the programme, a cooperation between the hospital and the Cambodian health association in America, CHPAA.
The programme aims to treat children with congenital heart disease and other related conditions by providing surgery free of charge, seeking to restore their health and offer better quality of life.
Beyond treatment, it focuses on building local medical capacity through exchanges of experience and training between Cambodian and American doctors, together with support for modern surgical technology and equipment.
During the visit, she met children receiving inpatient treatment and encouraged their guardians, conveying greetings and good wishes from Hun Sen, Bun Rany Hun Sen and Hun Manet. She also spoke with doctors, nurses, hospital staff and CHPAA volunteer physicians actively implementing the programme.
She thanked the cooperation partners for their dedicated contributions and expressed confidence that the children’s heart-surgery programme would continue smoothly and succeed, bringing further hope and a new future to Cambodian children. By: KPS99TV.
