Under the coordination of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Sokha, Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration conducted a collective deportation operation on February 24. The report says 816 foreigners, including 63 women, from 14 countries were expelled in accordance with legal procedures. Chinese nationals formed the largest group, at 494, mainly linked to telecommunications and online-fraud cases.

According to the official notice cited in the report, those concerned were returned to their countries of origin on special flights through Techo International Airport. The operation formed part of continuing action against cross-border crime, focusing on online scams and related illegal activities.

The immigration department also said that, while pursuing masterminds and criminal organisations, it screened and assisted people who had been deceived or coerced into illegal acts, helping restore their freedom and coordinate safe returns home.
