Summary

The report cites Labour Minister Heng Sour on 2025 employment, estimated at 10.7 million, around 800,000 above 2024, including 4.9 million in services.

Cambodian Labour and Vocational Training Minister Heng Sour recently said employment in 2025 was estimated at about 10.7 million, around 800,000 more than in 2024. The figures put agricultural employment at about 2.8 million, industry at 3 million and services at 4.9 million, with services a major driver of employment growth.

He said these employment results depended on support from the private sector, workers, the public and development partners, as well as coordination within the ministry and civil servants’ efforts. Future work would continue to improve working conditions under labour law, promote harmonious industrial relations, strengthen out-of-court labour dispute mediation and intervene lawfully in strikes and protests to protect both employers’ and workers’ rights.

The report described Cambodia as remaining resilient despite a complicated global economy, geopolitical changes and border challenges, maintaining overall economic stability and improving employment while protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
