On March 10, a 38-year-old Chinese woman was charged in Singapore’s State Courts over an alleged bribery attempt. In the early morning of December 26, 2025, she allegedly tried to offer S$100 to an Immigration & Checkpoints Authority officer at Changi Airport Terminal 4 to obtain permission to enter Singapore. The officer rejected the offer and reported it, and the case was referred to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB).
The report said she had been granted S$5,000 bail and would return to court on April 7. Under Singapore’s Prevention of Corruption Act, a person convicted of the Section 6 offence may face a fine of up to S$100,000, imprisonment of up to five years, or both. CPIB stressed its zero-tolerance approach to corruption and its continuing enforcement against such offences.
