Under Cambodian government instructions and coordination by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Sokha, the General Department of Immigration carried out deportations from March 7 to 10, removing 724 foreign nationals over four days, including 163 women, from fifteen countries and regions. They came from China, Japan, Pakistan, India, Uganda, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, the Philippines, Nepal, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Cameroon.
The department said they were returned to their places of origin through Techo International Airport and the Bavet international border checkpoint. It said investigations linked them to various violations, including illegal entry, unlawful stay without passports, involvement in online scams, forged visas and unauthorised employment in Cambodia.
