To welcome domestic and international visitors during Khmer New Year 2026, Kampot Governor Mao Thonin instructed relevant departments to study an initial list of more than 60 dishes for vendors at Food Street.
At a March 19 afternoon discussion on opening the venue, he said the selection should include traditional Khmer cakes, Kampot signature cakes and longstanding foods connected to local customs, helping visitors understand Khmer culinary heritage.
The report presents Food Street as more than a new leisure destination in Kampot city: through orderly, attractive and hygienic arrangements, it aims to support household livelihoods and preserve traditional food.
The provincial administration invited domestic and international visitors to support and enjoy Food Street during the forthcoming 2026 traditional New Year, promoting culinary heritage and experiencing Kampot’s food and hospitality. By Lay Kol.
