Police raided two suspected counterfeit-cigarette sites in Takhmao on June 22, detained five foremen and production workers and seized cigarettes and related items for further proceedings.

On June 22, Cambodian police conducted raids at two suspected illegal counterfeit-cigarette production sites in Takhmao city, Kandal province, as part of enforcement against tobacco-related offences and efforts to improve market conditions.

The operation was carried out under the overall direction of National Police chief 苏通 and specific instructions from deputy chief 莫速贴. Central Judicial Police Department director 洪金杰 led the operation, with deputy prosecutor 沈莫尼洛 coordinating legal procedures throughout.

Officers found a large quantity of allegedly counterfeit or substandard cigarettes bearing brands including Marlboro, Winston, Gold Mount, JPS Classic, Tobacco Gauses and Canyon. Five foremen and production workers were detained for further police questioning and investigation. All cigarettes and related items found at the sites were seized for subsequent handling under the law.

Central Judicial Police Department director 洪金杰 said law-enforcement authorities would continue increasing inspections and action against counterfeiting, sales of counterfeit goods and illegal production under National Police direction, using regular targeted operations to uphold market supervision, public order, lawful rights and public safety.
