Cambodia’s King Norodom Sihamoni recently sent a birthday message to Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, praising his longstanding contributions to peace, stability, development and national unity, and extending his sincere wishes.
In the message, King Sihamoni said Hun Sen had upheld a firm spirit of patriotism and drawn on his extensive political experience and outstanding leadership to safeguard national sovereignty, territorial integrity, national unity and the country’s honour. The King commended his important role in achieving peace, stability and development in Cambodia.
The King noted that, while he was in China for medical check-ups, Hun Sen had fulfilled his duties as Acting Head of State, ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of national affairs and demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility.
King Sihamoni said that, since becoming Senate President, Hun Sen had continued to promote the Senate’s performance of its duties in accordance with the law, achieving positive results in national governance and legislative work. His contributions had earned broad recognition in Cambodian society and attracted international attention.
Hun Sen will turn 74 on August 5, 2026, entering his 75th year. His date of birth is August 5, 1952. It was previously registered as April 4, 1951, and was officially corrected to August 5, 1952, in June 2022.
