Cambodia-Australia Strengthen Defense Cooperation for Regional Peace and Stability

Cambodia and Australia have continued to promote relations and cooperation in the defense sector through discussions between the leadership of the defense ministries of both countries, focusing on contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. The discussions took place on September 9, 2026, during an official visit by General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence in Australia.

During the meeting with Richard Marles Acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Australia, both parties engaged in a fruitful discussion and expressed their commitment to strengthening defense cooperation. The visit is expected to help enhance the longstanding friendship between Cambodia and Australia, as well as promote cooperation in the defense and military sectors.

Through this discussion, Cambodia and Australia have reaffirmed their determination to strengthen defense cooperation to jointly address regional security challenges and enhance stability in the region. The cooperation between the two countries is seen as part of the contribution to building peace and prosperity in the region.
