Can Cambodia Rebound Its Tourism Image After Scams? Will Korean Tourists Return?
On September 8, Cambodia's Tourism Minister Thong Khon met with Mun Yong-Jo, President of the International Interchange Development Association (IIDA) of Korea, and executives from several Korean companies to discuss strengthening Cambodia-Korea tourism cooperation, attracting Korean tourists and investors to Cambodia.

Thong Khon stated that Cambodia hopes to further promote bilateral exchanges, attract more Korean tourists to visit Cambodia, and encourage Korean enterprises and investors to focus on the Cambodian market, expanding cooperation in tourism and related industries.

He introduced that Cambodia is currently promoting the "2026 Green Season Cambodia Tourism Promotion Campaign" and is collaborating with airlines, travel agencies, content creators, and international media to increase overseas market promotion, expand international tourist sources, and promote the diversification, greening, and smart development of tourism products.

Mun Yong-Jo stated that this visit gave him a more direct understanding of Cambodia's current political, economic, and social development, as well as the security situation. After returning to Korea, he will introduce his actual experiences in Cambodia to the Korean public and business community and actively convey Cambodia's progress in continuous crackdowns on cybercrime and other crimes.
Both parties believe that as Cambodia continues to strengthen its governance of cybercrime and improve its tourism and investment environment, further strengthening external communication will help eliminate external concerns and enhance the confidence of Korean tourists and investors in traveling, doing business, and investing in Cambodia.
