Tourism Minister Huot Hak Visits Wat Preah Kraal on Phnom Kulen

Siem Reap: On September 21, 2026, Tourism Minister Huot Hak offered incense, prayed and paid respects to the Buddha statue at Wat Preah Ang Thom in Preah Jayavarman–Norodom “Phnom Kulen” National Park, wishing for happiness, prosperity and peace.
Wat Preah Kraal is considered an important sacred site and a tourist destination with religious, cultural and natural value. It regularly welcomes local residents and domestic and international visitors who come to worship, learn about its history and enjoy the natural beauty of the Phnom Kulen area.
Huot Hak’s visit to this sacred site reflected attention to promoting religious, cultural and natural values, which are an important part of Siem Reap’s tourism potential. Phnom Kulen remains a significant destination for domestic and international tourists.
Phnom Kulen, with its rich historical heritage, is located in Kulen Village, Khnang Phnom Commune, Svay Leu District, Siem Reap Province, about 55 kilometers from the provincial capital. The mountain is closely connected with Khmer history and beliefs. Its importance lies not only in its natural scenery but also in the traces of ancient civilization that survive today.
Preah Jayavarman–Norodom “Phnom Kulen” National Park preserves various ancient structures, including temples, archaeological sites and other structures connected with people’s lives in the past.
