1,299 Riders Enter the Angkor Jungle! "Sports + Tourism" Opens New Ways to Experience Siem Reap

On September 20, Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism held the "Angkor Green Season Cycling Tour" in Siem Reap Province under the theme of "Sports and Tourism Combined," attracting 1,299 participants, exceeding expectations.

The event was jointly organized by Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism, the Siem Reap Provincial Government, Apsara Authority, Angkor Authority, and other units. The cycling route covers approximately 12 kilometers, passing through the Angkor jungle and surrounding areas. Participants included representatives from the tourism industry, social media creators, opinion leaders, and international tourists, including visitors from France, Belgium, Germany, Japan, and China.

The organizers stated that this cycling tour is a supporting event for the "Angkor Equinox" activity, aiming to combine sports with cultural and natural heritage to introduce more green season tourism experiences and attract more tourists to Siem Reap.

Cambodia's Minister of Tourism Huot Hak stated that sports tourism enables visitors to learn about Angkor's culture and natural environment in a more diverse way, and called on the public and tourists to jointly protect cultural heritage and natural resources.

The Ministry of Tourism also stated that it will promote the inclusion of the Angkor Equinox Cycling Tour in the annual event schedule in the future, continue to expand the scale of the event, and develop it into one of Siem Reap's representative sports tourism activities.
