164 People "Asked to Leave the Country"! Cambodia Cracks Down on Illegal Foreigners

According to the General Department of Immigration of Cambodia, on September 19, the Cambodian authorities deported 164 Chinese citizens in accordance with the law, including one woman.

The General Department of Immigration stated that after investigation by relevant law enforcement agencies, this group of individuals was involved in multiple types of illegal activities, including illegal border crossing, illegal residence and illegal employment, drug use, and suspected involvement in online telecom fraud and other activities.

This deportation operation is part of Cambodia's ongoing crackdown on illegal foreigners and cybercrime. Relevant Cambodian departments stated that they will continue to strengthen the inspection and management of foreign nationals and handle those suspected of illegal activities in accordance with the law.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet previously stressed that criminals or lawbreakers are not allowed to use Cambodian territory to engage in fraud activities or carry out criminal acts that endanger regional and international security, and demanded that relevant departments continue to carry out clearance, crackdown and deportation operations.

At present, Cambodia's Ministry of Interior and immigration authorities are still continuing to advance the cybercrime crackdown operation, while tracking down the masterminds behind related criminal gangs, and providing assistance to victims who have suffered fraud, deception or control, helping them return safely to their home countries.
