Battambang Primary School Principal Arrested over Alleged Indecent Assault on 13-Year-Old Student
Police in Battambang are referring the case of a 51-year-old primary school principal accused of indecent assault on a 13-year-old student to court.
Officers from the Sampov Loun District Police Inspectorate in Battambang Province, working together with the Ta Sda Administrative Police Post, have built a case and sent a suspect — a primary school principal — to the Battambang Provincial Court, in connection with the offense of "indecent assault with aggravating circumstances" against a schoolgirl.
The suspect has been identified as Cheng Chan Thoeun (alias Vit), 51 years old, principal of Koun Phnom 32 Primary School, residing in Ta Sda commune, Sampov Loun district, Battambang Province.
According to the complaint filed by the guardian of the victim (identified as R.S.M, 13 years old), at around 2:20 p.m. on September 17, 2026, the suspect called the girl into the principal's office, allegedly forced her to lift her shirt, used a measuring tape to measure her chest, touched her with his hands, and also used a mobile phone to take photographs.
After receiving the complaint, law enforcement authorities opened an investigation and proceeded to arrest the suspect on the morning of September 18, 2026, at a location in Koun Phnom Khang Tboung village. In the presence of the authorities, the suspect confessed that he had indeed committed acts of indecent assault and taken obscene photographs of the victim student.
The suspect is currently being processed for transfer to the Battambang Provincial Court for legal action. ✍️ By: Pai Sokhim
