Visa and Mastercard Come to Discuss Cooperation! Cambodia's Digital Payments Target International Tourists

Recently, Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, met with a senior management team led by Donald Ong, head of Mastercard for Southeast Asia and East Asia. The two sides held discussions on the development of digital payments and future cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides focused on the construction of Cambodia's payment system and on further expanding the international user coverage of Bakong Tourist, so as to provide more convenient digital payment services for international tourists visiting Cambodia.

Chea Serey noted that Cambodia will soon host important international events and will showcase the country's achievements in digital payments to international guests through the "Black Swan Summit." The conference will also serve as a platform for all parties to share experiences in payment innovation and present relevant technologies, enabling international participants to further understand and experience Cambodia's digital payment services.
In addition, the two sides exchanged views on digital payment security, with a focus on fraud monitoring, risk identification, and transaction interception mechanisms. As digital payment applications continue to expand, both sides believed that enhancing payment security and reducing fraud risks would help improve the safety of payment services and strengthen user trust in the digital payment system.

This meeting further promoted exchanges and cooperation between Cambodia and Mastercard in the field of digital payments.
