Cambodia and China Strengthen Law Enforcement Cooperation and Welcome Progress Against Online and Transnational Crime

Phnom Penh: The law enforcement partnership between Cambodia and China has become increasingly close, as senior leaders of the security institutions of both countries held a thorough working meeting on the afternoon of September 24, 2026, at the Ministry of Interior headquarters. On that occasion, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sar Sokha, hosted an official welcoming ceremony in honor of His Excellency Yang Weilin, Deputy Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China, to jointly open a meeting to summarize work results and advance toward signing an annual plan to continue bilateral law enforcement cooperation.

The core agenda of the bilateral discussion focused on sharing practical experiences and strengthening urgent measures to prevent online scams, as well as various transnational criminal networks, including human trafficking, drug issues, and trafficking in illicit goods. Both leaders expressed praise and profound gratitude to the competent forces of both sides, who have diligently carried out their shared mission with loyalty and achieved many remarkable practical accomplishments.

Finally, the heads of the law enforcement institutions of both Cambodia and China expressed strong satisfaction with the progress of work to date, particularly the operations to crack down on online crime networks, which have received mutual support and congratulations.
