Royal Government to Deploy 600 Free Buses for Citizens Over 5 Days During Pchum Ben Festival

To help ease the travel expenses of all citizens visiting their hometowns and reuniting with family during the Pchum Ben Festival of the Khmer tradition, year of the Rabbit, B.E. 2570, the Phnom Penh Capital Administration has the honor of informing the public that, in implementing the high directives of Samdech Moha Boraveth HUN MANET, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, given during the plenary session of the Council of Ministers at the Office of the Council of Ministers on the morning of September 25, 2026, the Phnom Penh Capital Administration will arrange 600 buses for free public transportation service for 5 days, from October 9 to October 13, 2026, to help ease the travel expenses of all citizens visiting their hometowns and reuniting with family during the Pchom Ben Festival of the Khmer tradition, year of the Rabbit, B.E. 2570, comprising:
1- Public transportation service for citizens within the Phnom Penh Capital territory and airport bus service to the Techo International Airport, using 100 buses.
 2- Public transportation service for citizens traveling from Phnom Penh Capital to the provinces and from the provinces back to Phnom Penh Capital, using 500 buses, divided into 6 major routes, along with complimentary drinking water available on every bus.
In addition, the Phnom Penh Capital Administration calls on all company owners, business owners, and passenger transport vehicle owners to cooperate in maintaining the same transport service fares, without raising prices during the Pchum Ben Festival, in order to contribute together with the Royal Government and the Phnom Penh Capital Administration in helping ease the expenses and living conditions of citizens.
