Foreign businesspeople visited farms in Kampong Chhnang and near Phnom Penh with ARDB’s Kao Thach to explore agricultural investment. ARDB reported 1,703 dairy and 2,300 beef cattle at the cattle farm, while up to 16 barns at the layer chicken farm were under construction.

Cambodia’s agriculture and livestock sector is becoming an attractive investment focus, after a delegation of foreign businesspeople visited modern farm production chains directly in Kampong Chhnang province and on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, coordinated by His Excellency Dr. Kao Thach, Royal Government Delegate serving as Director General of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB).

The visit showcased practical production capacity at key sites, including a safe vegetable farm on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, a broiler chicken farm with 3 barns under construction to supply the domestic market, a large-scale layer chicken farm with up to 16 barns under construction, a dairy and beef cattle farm with more than 4,000 head (1,703 dairy cattle and 2,300 beef cattle) located in Kdol Sen Chey commune and the Phous water reservoir area, Kampong Chhnang province. The farm not only raises local Brahman cattle but also breeds and raises world-class beef cattle breeds of high economic value, such as Charolais, Black Angus, and Japanese Wagyu.

His Excellency Dr. Kao Thach noted that showcasing real production scenes to investors in this way is a strategy that demonstrates Cambodia not only has land and market demand, but also a large-scale, standardized production chain already in place, ready to receive new capital for further expansion.

New investment flows in the production of meat, eggs, milk, and vegetables could become a strong driving force to help reduce import dependence, ensure food security, create jobs for rural residents, and pave the way for promoting the export of Cambodian agricultural products to international markets in the future.
