Cambodia and Vietnam recently officially opened the Chrey Thom–Khanh Binh international border crossing, further boosting border transit efficiency and promoting trade, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
The administrations of Cambodia's Kandal province and Vietnam's An Giang province held an inauguration ceremony at the Khanh Binh international border crossing, attended by senior provincial officials and representatives of relevant departments. The Cambodian side said the upgrade and opening of the crossing marks an important achievement in long-standing Cambodia–Vietnam ties and will further promote economic development in border areas.

Data shows that in the first eight months of 2026, bilateral trade between Cambodia and Vietnam reached US$5.98 billion, up 7% year on year. The two governments are currently pushing bilateral trade toward a target of US$20 billion. Vietnam is currently Cambodia's third-largest trading partner, after China and the United States.
In terms of trade, Cambodia mainly exports agricultural products such as rice, rubber, cashews, cassava, corn, bananas and mangoes to Vietnam, while importing construction materials, machinery, fuel, electronics and fertilizers from Vietnam.

In terms of investment, Vietnam currently has 223 investment projects in Cambodia, with registered capital of nearly US$3.4 billion, spanning agriculture, finance, telecommunications, aviation and commercial services. With the continued upgrade of border infrastructure, there is still room for further expansion of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung is planning an official visit to Cambodia on October 9–10. The launch of the new crossing, combined with the high-level exchange, will further advance economic, trade and border cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam.
