On October 4, more than 2,000 domestic and international tourists from 26 countries took part in the "Bokor Mountain Green Tourism Run," an obstacle race on Bokor Mountain in Kampot Province. Cambodian Minister of Tourism Huot Hak and Kampot Provincial Governor Mao Thonin presided over the event.
The event was part of the 2026 Coastal Green Tourism Season series of activities, held from October 2 to 4 in Kampot Province, with the coastal provinces of Kep, Preah Sihanouk, and Koh Kong also participating.

The event combined green tourism with a sporting experience, allowing visitors to take in the natural mountain scenery and fresh air of Bokor Mountain while experiencing the area's tourism resources through activities such as the obstacle run, further promoting the tourism potential of Kampot and Cambodia's coastal regions.
The Kampot Provincial Government said it hoped the international event would help more domestic and foreign tourists learn about Kampot and further enhance the international profile of Cambodia's coastal tourist destinations.

Huot Hak said the event aimed to spotlight the four coastal provinces of Kampot, Kep, Preah Sihanouk, and Koh Kong, and to enrich the Green Tourism Season with activities such as cooking competitions and local product fairs to attract more visitors for sightseeing and vacations.
The Ministry of Tourism also called on the public to actively take part in tourism promotion, embracing the concept that "every citizen is a tourism ambassador," and to jointly showcase Cambodia's natural scenery, distinctive products, and travel experiences to international visitors.
