Specialist officers from the Stung Treng Provincial Police Commissariat conducted a two-day crackdown on drug offenses, detaining a total of 17 male and female suspects in connection with the illegal trafficking and use of narcotics.
The operations took place on July 31 and August 1, 2026. After investigating and identifying targets, specialist police carried out raids at five locations in Stung Treng province.
According to Major General សារី បុត្រសត្យា, Stung Treng provincial police commissioner, officers seized five packages of white crystalline drugs—one large and four small—and 145 drug tablets that had become wet and dissolved together. Other evidence included two drug-weighing scales, one car, 12 motorcycles and 17 mobile phones.
Police are preparing case files covering all the suspects and seized evidence for referral in accordance with legal procedures. Specialist officers are continuing their investigation to locate other accomplices and ringleaders involved and bring them to justice without exception.
