Authorities in Chantrea district, Svay Rieng province, working with relevant police stations, arrested nine suspected members of a youth gang on September 1, 2026, following disturbances that had alarmed residents.
The operation was carried out under the direct command of Major General ពេជ្រ វីរៈ, Svay Rieng Provincial Police Commissioner, and Lieutenant Colonel ជិន សុភឿន, Chantrea District Police Chief. Criminal investigation officers worked with the administrative police stations of ច្រេស, សំរោង and ទួលស្ដី to apprehend members of the group, which called itself “KV”.
According to police, the group had been involved in slashing attacks, damaging travellers’ motorcycles and causing disturbances in ច្រេស commune, Chantrea district, and ត្នោត commune, Kampong Rou district. The nine suspects were referred to the specialist office for case preparation and legal proceedings.
Police also urged young people to stay away from drugs and other harmful activities that could damage their own futures, their families and society. They called on parents and guardians to monitor and guide their children closely, helping them become good children, good students and model citizens.
