Samdech Techo Hun Sen Sends Wishes to Citizens on the First Day of the Pchum Ben Festival
On the occasion of the first day of the Pchum Ben Festival, a major Khmer national tradition, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and Acting Head of State, sent a message wishing all Cambodian citizens happiness, safety and warmth in their family reunions.
Through a post on social media: Sunday, the 1st waning day of the month of Botum, year of the Rabbit, Atthasak, Buddhist Era 2570, corresponding to September 27, 2026, marks the first day of the Pchum Ben Festival, which is our Khmer national tradition that has existed since ancient times.

This is a time when Buddhist citizens have the opportunity to make offerings, accumulate merits, and reunite with relatives near and far, especially at pagodas and temples.
I wish all citizens a joyful family reunion and safety in traveling to every destination during the Pchum Ben Festival.
