On the afternoon of September 30, 2026, His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Her Majesty Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, the Queen Mother of the Khmer Nation, to whom the highest respect is due, have returned to the homeland after having gone for a medical check-up and monitoring in Beijing, the People's Republic of China, for approximately one month.
The return of Their Majesties was received with a grand and most warm welcome at Techo International Airport by top leaders of the Senate, the National Assembly, the Royal Government, members of the Royal Family, as well as numerous national and international dignitaries.
It should also be recalled that the trip to Beijing for a medical check-up is a regular medical visit undertaken twice a year by Their Majesties, receiving attentive and thorough treatment from a team of highly specialized Chinese doctors. During the stay of Their Majesties abroad, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, served as Acting Head of State, leading and coordinating the key affairs of the nation during the recent period on behalf of the King.
